Jenny Larsson

Professor in Baltic languages at Stockholm University

Membership period 20122017

I am professor in Baltic languages with main interest in the history of languages. The aim of my research is to identify how the Indo-European languages have evolved over time and how they relate to each other. I have a broad background in linguistics and have conducted research in Gothic, Sanskrit, Avestan, Greek and Latin. I have recently published a book on the Baltic language spoken in East Prussia before the area was conquered by the Teutonic Knights.

I was the Academy's Chair 2015 –2016.
