The amount of overhead costs that universities, departments and different fields of research charge varies greatly, as shown by the survey carried out by the Young Academy of Sweden. The support that the individual researcher receives for this cost also differs greatly. Especially for researchers at the beginning of their careers, this can have major consequences.
