The Young Academy of Sweden is an independent platform that gives younger researchers a strong voice in the policy debate and facilitates their efforts to contribute to a better research system and society. With a broad representation from various research fields and universities, research policy proposals, international cooperation, and outreach activities are developed.

We are both honored and happy to welcome new members, says Mia Liinason, professor of gender studies at Lund University, YAS’ new chair as of 21 May, Young academies collaborate around the world and the work of standing up for freedom and knowledge is more important than ever.

The exhibition Life Eternal, a collaboration with the Nobel Prize Museum and Liljevalch’s Art Gallery, the academy’s research policy for the coming four-year period, and the launch of A Beginner’s Guide to Swedish Academia. In 2023, SUA will host the international meeting for young academies in Europe: ENYA.
