I am one of four Principal Investigators for the world’s most far-ranging democracy-measurment project ever: Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem), which involves some 2,500 scholars and practitioners from across the globe. I have published on elections and democracy in Africa, political clientelism, women’s representation, parties, and electoral systems as well as on young Swede’s attitudes to democracy.

Interests: Ice hockey, hunting, fishing, nature, friends, family.
Other: Played elite ice hockey in his youth, was a leader for Sweden’s largest music festival in 1986 (Gärdesfesten) with 60,000 visitors. Worked as a director’s assistant and production manager in theater, and as a production manager and more within TV and film, including “Sunes jul”, before pursuing higher education and an academic career.
I am a member of the Young Academy of Sweden to contribute to research policy, university direction, and the future of research in Sweden, in collaboration with all these other exciting young researchers.
