The activities of the Young Academy of Sweden are managed by a CEO and a secretariat located in the premises of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Frescati, Stockholm.
Sverker has many years of experience in leading and coordinating complex operations and has gradually focused his career on supporting researchers and developing the research system in various ways. Prior to SUA, he worked at the Swedish Research Council in the role of coordinator for the Medicine and Health Council, with responsibilities in research funding and operational management. He has a PhD in Biotechnology from the Royal Institute of Technology and has also studied Philosophy of Science, Film Music, and Classical Greek.
Jesper has a PhD in Philosophy from KTH. He is an author and journalist, with previous assignments as a columnist for Dagens Nyheter, as well as editor-in-chief and publisher for Svensk filosofi.
Helena has a background as a journalist at, among others, Dagens Nyheter, SVT and Vetenskapsjournalisterna. She has also worked as an editor, writer and researcher for Bonnier Publishers. She most recently came from the Swedish Research Council where she worked as a communication strategist and project manager, responsible for seminars and conferences. Helena is a devoted Francophile and an expert on French cheeses.
Anna is an economist. She previously held a position at Congrex, where she was responsible for large meetings with several thousand participants, such as medical conferences. Anna has participated in the most Vasaloppet races and has been a leader in the Scouting movement.
Annika has a background in media studies. She came to SUA from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences where she worked with press work for the Nobel Prizes and as an editor for the beautiful popular science Nobel posters. Before that, she worked with branding and design at an agency. She is also a former group fitness instructor and basketball player.
SUA members are located at universities throughout the country. The secretariat is located at the premises of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Frescati, Stockholm.
