At the April academy meeting, a new leadership team was elected for the Young Academy of Sweden. Gabriele Messori, Professor of Meteorology at Uppsala University, will take on the role as Chair. The new leadership team assumes office on 23 May.

It is truly an honourable task to take over the chair from Sofia Lodén! Next, I’m particularly looking forward to meeting the academy’s stakeholders and discussing research policy in Almedalen!

The leadership of the Young Academy of Sweden consists of five academy members: a Chair, a Vice Chair, and three additional members. They are elected for a one-year term at the final academy meeting in the spring. The leadership team prepares matters ahead of academy meetings and meets 6–9 times per year. The academy’s CEO participates in the leadership meetings in an advisory capacity.
