On 6 October in the week of the Nobel Prize announcements, Young Academy of Sweden joined the Nobel Teacher Summit, an inspirational day for teachers with Nobel Laureates. The Academy led a session with Expedition Mundus, a game where the scientific method is applied to learn about a new world: Mundus. More photos below!

Learn more about the game Expedition Mundus

Members and staff of the Young Academy of Sweden played Expedition Mundus and had a conversation with the participating teachers about the possibilities of using the game as an ice breaker to talk with students about how we know things about the world. Some teachers signed up for future gaming sessions where the Young Academy of Sweden will visit their schools to play. The session also provided a good opportunity for the Academy to spread information about our summer research school Forskarmöten (Research Encounters).

Nobel Teacher Summit 2017 is the first international event to be held by the Nobel Education Network, a global grouping for teachers and school leaders and the core of the Nobel Center’s schools initiative. The initiative builds on the ability of the Nobel Prize to inspire people to seek out knowledge, to ask questions and to attempt to understand and improve the world.
