My research focuses on the intersection of violence, social inequality, and health dynamics, with an emphasis on reproductive rights and gender-based violence in Latin America.
I am currently the Principal Investigator of the European Research Council (ERC) 2025 Starting Grant SeRO. This project aims to provide the first systematic account of the consequences of local violent crime on sexual and reproductive health, based on an ambitious mixed-methods approach to study the case of Mexico.
In a second research line, I study attitudes toward sexual and reproductive health and rights in collaboration with the World Values Survey (WVS).
Interests: Jazz and soul are a great passion. I prefer to spend my free time with my family (my husband Hampus and our Labrador Cosmos), at the gym, and reading Spanish literature.
Other: I was born in Umeå, have roots in Norrbotten, and have lived in Australia, Cuba, Spain, and the USA.
International and interdisciplinary collaborations, research communication, and creating a more sustainable research landscape for the next generation of academics are particularly engaging to me.
